About ‘The Toaster’
Sooo… it seems I finally overcame my low moods and scarce energy to set out a blog. This is definitely a start. And, if you are reading this now, a good one:
It means then that I got at least one reader!
I will start explaining three main things about the blog, meaning, why the blog, why in English and why the title.
Why the blog. Basically, to have an excuse to sit down and write. I lost my two last diaries, which was very disappointing and discouraging. Besides, lately I don’t feel like writing very much. So, I thought that, on the one hand, not to be able to lose what I write, and on the other one, the idea of being potentially read by people both by old friends or complete strangers, could make a difference on that. I want to write -I think.
Why (on hell) in English. If you speak English, probably you have already noticed that mine is quite crappy. I do my best, but it is certainly not my mother tongue (mine is Spanish). The reason why I write in English and not in Spanish, is because my Spanish speaking friends and enemies are more likely to speak English than my English speaking ones to speak Spanish. Yeah, that’s pretty much it.
So, why the title. You know? I hate these registration processes where the possibilities for a user-name seems to be exhausted. You try and try and try and try different words, but they all “are already in use”.
Yeah, how much I hate them. Specially, because then, suddenly, you realize that it is a while ago already that you lost perspective, and that you are not thinking of user-names or titles that you would like to have, but instead of those that might be available (potentially ugly or uninteresting ones) and, finding oneself thinking “I hope it is already in use”, happens to be very confusing to me.
So, in such a state of consfusion and quite annoyed already I decided to make a break, refresh my square mind, and to go to the kitchen to make some coffee. And a pair of toasts.
And there you are! It couldn’t be more simple: it is called ‘The Toaster’ because it was the last thing I came across before I finally found an available name for my blog.
Also, because I think it is very descriptive somehow; I intend this blog to be a place where I heat and process my daily complains and miseries to just later put them carelessly out, to avoid getting them burnt inside of my mind -just like the toaster does with my bread. Basically, this will be a blog of personal reflections and miseries, not specifically addressed to anyone.
With this I will finish my first entry here and now, because I am already tempted to change delete it completely, and I think it will make me good to leave things as they come, as they happen to be and to be born.
With nothing else (nor less) to say, I welcome home, my newly-born toaster.
